The Central Kowloon Route (Yau Ma Tei Section) Officially Opens to Traffic

We are proud to share that the Yau Ma Tei Section of the Central Kowloon Bypass (Route 6), a key component of Hong Kong's east-west transport corridor, will be commissioned on December 21, 2025.

Project Highlights:
 -  Strategic Link: Connects West Kowloon, Kai Tak, and Tseung Kwan O via tunnels and expressways (CKR, T2 Trunk Road, TKO-LTT).
 -  Efficiency Gains: Reduces Yau Ma Tei to Kowloon Bay travel time from 30 minutes to 5 minutes.
 -  Scale: 4.7km total length, including a 3.9km tunnel constructed since 2017.

Chun Wo Tunnel Secures 4-Year Tunnel MOM Agreement of the Route 6

Chun Wo Tunnel Management Limited has announced the successful acquisition of a four-year agreement for the management, operation, and maintenance of Route 6. This agreement, awarded by the Transport Department, is valued at approximately HK$ 1 billion. Route 6 encompasses three critical tunnels: the Tseung Kwan O – Lam Tin Tunnel, the Central Kowloon Bypass (Yau Ma Tei Section Tunnel), and the Central Kowloon Bypass (Kowloon Bay Section Tunnel). Currently overseeing the Tseung Kwan O - Lam Tin Tunnel, Chun Wo Tunnel Management is gearing up for additional responsibilities. Following the completion of the Yau Ma Tei Section Tunnel and the Kowloon Bay Section Tunnel of the Central Kowloon Bypass in 2025 and 2026 respectively, our team will also manage these two tunnels under the agreement. This achievement fully recognizes Chun Wo Tunnel Management's cutting-edge expertise in project management and reflects the team's commitment to enhancing the efficiency of urban infrastructure in Hong Kong.
